This is from Lindsey's mom Lisa. I didn't want to misinterpret anything so if you're like me you like a specific update. So here it is!
Praise the Lord and thank you all for your prayers! Surgery is over and everything went well. Lindsey has been having some pain, but after oxycodone and a dose of Morphine, she is resting nicely now. The surgery took about 45 minutes, which was much shorter than expected. They removed a lot of infection and also some tissue to enlarge the sinus openings. Everything "looked" okay, but tissue samples are being sent to pathology....which is standard. They are culturing everything that was removed to make sure there are no signs of a fungal infection or anything else unexpected. Also, from the cultures, they will be able to tell if Lindsey is on the right antibiotics for this type of infection. They did add another antibiotic last night and today before surgery, Lindsey's eye looked better and not quite so swollen. Lindsey's nose is now swollen from the procedure and they have a gauze taped to the bottom of her nose to catch the blood still coming out....she can't blow her nose for many days. The doctor said it would take a couple of weeks for the interior of her sinus track to heal. Her little eye still has tears running out of it and she is still running some fever; however, prayerfully, we will see that begin to change within the next day or so. Not sure how much longer we will be here....don't really care....as long as our little girl feels better!
We are humbled, and very thankful, time and again to see the blessings that our Lord has for our child, our family, and each one of us on this earth! We are so happy Lindsey is out of her surgery and that it is behind her....it was something that needed to happen, even though we didn't want her having to endure another thing. The little boys are doing well and have been SO good this hospital stay....Nanny (Todd's mom) is here with them playing quietly beside Lindsey's bed....and I do mean, quietly! They are good little brothers that have been worried about their big sister!
Okay, I will close now...much love to all...have a great weekend. Lisa
