Oh we had such a great time with my brother and my wonderful sister-in-law and nephew. Juil calls me "sis". I don't have one, just 3 wonderful brothers, so it's nice! We went to Lokomotion and did the put putt golf thing, bumper boats and some of the boys rode go-carts. Then of course the inside games complete with ticket fun.
We got to re-connect with her brother and his wife and eat supper with them on Sat night. It was so relaxing. Sunday church was great as usual. A challenge this week: What do you want God to do for you? AND What are you willing to do to achieve it? Ahhhh, that's different isn't it? I'd love to lose 20 lbs, then comes the 2nd question!!!!! We visited with my family Sunday afternoon and they came over here for supper. I really enjoyed it and hope they did too. We never did make it to the Drive-In. We wanted to give Brody a new experience but it was just toooo hot, even at 9pm.
One of the couples also waiting on a child from Romania just got back from a 2 week stay there. She emailed us with all the funny things the kids did and said. Andika is shy and sweet. My heart just grieves for her at times. It did help me to know how to pray for her though, as far as becoming less dependent on those around her and more independent. She won't have the other children when she comes here. Eric on the other hand is looking forward to having someone to do things with. It seems they are sooo sheltered in a way. They don't need all the "outside" things to entertain them, they do it like we did, go outside and find something/someone to play with! Anyway, keep praying for us/her and the obstacles in the way of getting her HOME!
We have our Home Study update with our social worker next week. My mom is making curtains for Andika's room. Looking forward to the cuteness it will be.
The Animal control officer just stopped. He got a call from a neighbor that didn't think our big dogs with the pen attached to the barn were being taken care of. Geesh! So we took a walk down there to show him food, water, shelter and right now SHADE!! He was satisfied................just doing his job.............! I asked if he wanted to see our Beagle too, nope, just the big dogs.
Doug and Eric have treasure hunters club tonight. From what Doug has been told, the guy that's the voice of "Mader" in "Cars" is joining the club tonight. Of course Eric wanted to go! I think I'll send a camera with them.
Big news in the Dorothy house. Eric's Make a Wish has been granted. We are going to a Nascar race in Charlotte, NC in October. I am so excited, but have to keep it from him until his "wish granting" party which will be the first part of October. That's supposed to be a Star Wars Party. I want that one to be big, like ALL the people that prayed and were a part of this journey to be invited.............so, if you live in our area, stay tuned for further details.
That's enough for now. Keep praying to our BIG God that cares about every detail of your life AND Loves you more than you love your kids. Hard to imagine isn't it?
Have a great weekend!
