Thursday Feb 6th we had an appointment with Dr Treptow (the surgeon.)  Doug was concerned as he hadn't had any drainage for 3-4 days and thought things were not healing in proper order.  (Pocket first, anastomosis disruption second.)  Dr Treptow pretty much said, "the only way to check other than a CT scan is a physical exam."  To which Doug said "well, you've got to do what you've got to do."    So he did the exam and was able to feel where the disruption is.  So that is actually a good thing.   We will go back in 2 more weeks.

I started back to work on February 3rd.  Boy did it feel good to be back!.  I was in the office on Monday and on the road Tue - Fri.  It's been a high of 18 here and is cold cold cold for us!  Still a lot of ice and snow packed roads the beginning of the week but the main roads were cleared for the most part by the end of the week.  They cancelled school Monday and Tuesday.

Doug went to work for 4 hours each day on Mon - Wed.  Stayed on Thursday and Friday.  After the appointment on Thursday he was in considerable pain and had to take the Oxycodone each day.  Saturday and Sunday he's been sleeping a lot and goes from the bed to the couch.  He's going to give it another go tomorrow.

He has to go to the Infusion clinic tomorrow to have blood drawn.  Then he has an appointment with Dr Bandy the infection doctor on Tuesday and an appointment with Dr Travis the oncologist on Friday.   I have a dental appointment Monday as well as Parent teacher conferences.  So in addition to it being Valentine's week (one of the 3 busiest at FedEx) we have another busy medical week.

Doug was pretty frustrated again Saturday.  Those times are getting farther apart but understandably they still happen.   If you would pray with us for patience during this healing time we would sure appreciate it.  :)


There's more happening (good stuff) with my job at FedEx.  I will let you in on that more but for tonight I'm going to have to cut this short (for me:) as I have to leave by 5:40 tomorrow am. (Virginia and Mike are you laughing at me?)

Thank you all for your continued prayers.    Doug is soooo much better but in the same breath has a ways to go.   God is good and we are BLESSED!
