Eric's Hemoglobin this morning was 8.5. Dr Stine said considering the amount of blood transfusions Eric has had he feels like we need to stay at least until tomorrow. We will see what his cbc shows Sunday and if he needs a transfusion we will transfuse and "maybe" go home later Sunday. The plan changes daily so we'll see what tomorrow holds.
Of course he is disappointed. After the Dr left he asked if he could at least be unhooked from the iv fluids. Since he was still on the floor, I quick asked our nurse to check with him. About 30 minutes later here she came with the iv flush! Freedom, YES! He is giving a urine sample now to check for urine in his blood. (It looks soooooo much better:) So as long as he eats and drinks he won't have to be hooked back up.
I'm soon to be on my way to Subway. And life is good here at the Arkansas Children's Hospital Spa and Hotel!
