Wed 12/17 & Thur AM

We had a good drive back to the frozen tundra Wednesday.  We hit a little freezing stuff just south of K.C. again but other than that the only event was dropping temperatures. It is 16 degrees here!

However!  We are BLESSED with a friend that is paying for our hotel and are staying across the street from Mayo.  The hotel is connected via a "subway" (think large corridor with shops, a bank, DQ, Subway, etc.)  The hotel elevator goes down to the subway level and you just walk to the building you appointment is in.  NO going outside!  It is awesome.  :)

This morning we went down and got a wheelchair and trekked over to the Gonda building which is attached to the Mayo building for Doug's MRI.  It took us all of 8 minutes to get there, no coats needed.  :)    His appointment was at 8:15 but we got there at 7:30 and got checked in, barely sat down and they called him back.  He said they did the IV contrast and he waited in there for about 20 minutes.  Then the MRI took about 40 minutes.  He said he had ear plugs in and ear muffs on but it was still SUPER loud. We thought he might have to have a rectal probe inserted but THANKFULLY he did not!  He got back to me around 10ish.

We ate in the cafeteria and now are resting back in our room.  I can't tell you how awesome this is!  The next appointment is with a colorectal specialist at 4:30.

More later!
